Event Description

Living with SCI/D often means balancing healthcare, caregiving, advocacy, relationships, and everyday responsibilities—sometimes all at once. This PeerConnect session focuses on recognizing burnout, understanding its impact, and learning practical strategies to manage it. Participants will explore tools such as setting boundaries, delegating responsibilities, prioritizing self-care, and deciding when to say yes and when to say no while continuing to advocate for themselves and their communities.

Dr. Nikki Saltzburg (she/they) is a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience delivering mental health care to adolescents and adults. Since 2008 they have worked primarily in collegiate mental health services, providing individual and group therapy to undergraduate and graduate students, training and supervising psychology interns and post doctoral residents, and developing and delivering community outreach at several large public universities throughout the US.
